Water Sensitive Communities: Inevitable or Pipe Dream?

On behalf of the Conference Organising Committee, we would like to would like to thank participants who attended the 2018 Stormwater Victoria Conference which was held at the Sheraton Melbourne Hotel, Victoria on Wednesday 6th and Thursday, 7th June, 2018.

Like much of the world, Victoria faces the following challenges: population growth and aging, changes in lifestyle and values, climate change and climatic variability and challenging economic conditions.  Our use of water underpins our economy, recreation, health and surrounding environment and it is important that Indigenous values are appropriately recognised.

This Conference explored whether Water Sensitive Communities are still a pipe dream or whether definitive steps and progress have been made in implementing these.

The Conference presented keynote presentations on leadership requirements, alternate pathways for delivery of WSC and the ability of communities to drive change, the Conference provided a very strong technical program that highlights what is being done now through the presentation of case studies; discussion of current policy directions and the presentation of new technologies and ideas.

Stormwater Victoria with support from our sponsors, would like to thank everyone for attending the 2018 Stormwater Victoria Conference.
